January 11th, 2019 – Today, East Coast-based death metal act A Wake In Providence have announced a new full-length record, ‘The Blvck Sun || The Blood Moon’, and released the first single from the record, “Oblivion”, out on Outerloop Records/Cooking Vinyl.
Oblivion is a crushing track, laden with the precision playing and destructive breakdowns you’d expect, but it also displays a more melodic side; soaring solos and clean vocals are woven into the song in a way that fits unnervingly well. The song also features a powerful guest feature from Mark Poida of contemporaries Aversions Crown, further cementing the ferocity present in this track.
This single is merely the first taste of A Wake In Providence’s upcoming full-length, ‘The Blvck Sun || The Blood Moon’, due out March 29th. You can find preorder packages for the album HERE. The record is an example of close to two years of work and fine-tuning and it shines through on the entire product. A Wake In Providence have created a bitter, twisted and mean body of work that demands your attention, and ‘The Blvck Sun || The Blood Moon’ is, and will be, their most stunning example of that.
A Wake in Providence is a technical-deathcore band hailing from across the eastern seaboard, with members spread from Massachusetts to Florida. Formed in 2010, the band currently consists of founding member D’Andre Tyre on guitar and clean vocals, Jordan Felion on guitar, and the band’s new lead vocalist, Adam Mercer.
AWIP has kept themselves busy for the last few years, having signed with Outerloop Management in 2016 and releasing the pummeling single “Iconoclast”. In 2017, the connection with Outerloop deepened, with the band penning a record deal with Outerloop Records, re-releasing an updated version of their debut record ‘Insidious’ and releasing “A Darkened Gospel”; the band’s most acclaimed single to date. AWIP has been featured in numerous prominent news outlets, ranging from Lambgoat to MetalSucks to being featured on The Jasta Show.
The band spent 2018 in the studio, working tirelessly to produce a full-length record, which they have titled ‘The Blvck Sun || The Blood Moon’; a punishing and unrelenting piece of work that AWIP are anxiously awaiting to unleash upon the world. With the release of this record, they are prepared to make 2019 the year they destroy the scene and claim their spot at the forefront of the heavy metal world.
